Hello Geeks, I'm wondering if anyone has ideas where there might be some info or a tutorial on windows mail or should I say outlook for windows 7?
Would appreciate the feedback.
Thanks.!

Windows 7 doesn't have Windows Mail or any other mail program. You need to get either Windows Live 2011 or Thunderbird. I am partial to the latter and it's just an email program.

Hello Leo, windows 7 has outlook 2007. If you go to the start minue and type in windows mail, this is what will come up. Outlook express was the older mail program, but windows switched to windows outlook 2007. on vista, it was definitely called windows mail.

Leo is right. Windows 7 doesn't come with a mail program. If you have Outlook, it's a trial license , unless you paid for the full version of course. I don't use it though so can't offer any help. Good luck.

outlook is a trial, windows 7 computers, or at least all the ones I have seen come with windows live and therefore now use windows live mail which is an absolute disaster with jaws, or at least it has been for me. I don't really know of any other mail clients I can use though, so I stick it out.

Outlook 2007 works just fine for me and I can use it just fine as a e mail program, but the menus are a bit difficult when looking for some specific options.
As for windows 7 having no mail program, that may depend. my brother bought a new hp computer from the store, and outlook 2007 was on it. it was not a demo.
earlier, a friend bought a new computer with vista and I couldn't find the mail program, so I used the search edit field and typed in mail. it came up with window's mail. I opened it and it was also outlook. again it wasn't a demo, so maybe it depends on where you get your computer.

does the h1 tag work on the boards?

Sorry I had to post this in a random topic, please ignore. But as far as I know:

Yep, outlook (or Windows Mail) will not come with win 7. you must have had it pre-installed. Usually computer makers will do that :)

I'm using Thunderbird, and have no issues. I'm still getting used to it, but it works, and is really simple to set up. You don't need pop servers, ports, or anything specific like that. Just your Email address and password, as far as I'm aware, at least.

Windows 7 does not have an email client. You must install one. You can buy your computer with Microsoft Office pre installed, so the poster that has it has a machine such as this. Free clients, you have been given the email clients. I use Outlook 2010, but I have Microsoft Office installed. On my other laptop I have Office 2007 installed. You'll need Office Home and business to get Outlook. If you are using Jaws in the Jaws help section you can find instructions in the popular applications with Jaws section on how to use it mostly. The rest go to www.microsoft,com and type in Outlook and your version to get more help.

All the Windows 7 computers I've seen came with Windows Live Mail. It's a bit sluggish with Jaws, so I've opted for Thunderbird. But it's there.

If they are configured correctly they don't come with it. You have to go to the about section then download Windows live. Yes, their is a link, but that is a choice, not a "come with" Windows live is much like Outlook, so the Jaws help will get you started as well.
